The MAPSOP project was initiated in 2010.
Purpose
The purpose of MAPSOP is to enable the Australian Civil-Military Centre to support Australian Government policy makers to further develop Australia’s national civil-military capabilities for complex and multidimensional peace and stabilisation operations. MAPSOP contributes to United Nations and international efforts to develop more coherent, networked and effective multiagency capabilities for peace and stabilisation operations.
Outcome
- MAPSOP brings together civil-military policy makers and practitioners from Australia, the United Nations, other countries and key organisations to help:
- promote a shared understanding of peace and stabilisation operations;
- improve Australia’s integrated civil-military capabilities for peace and stabilisation operations; and
- strengthen national and international civil-military relationships and cultural understanding.
